RFID & EM automation for the modern library
From proven electromagnetic protection to a full HF and UHF RFID ecosystem, tags, readers, self-check kiosks, bookdrops and security gates, all driven by The Edge System and SCWeb, and integrated with your ILS via SIP2/NCIP.
Three technologies, one automation partner
Edge Tech supplies electromagnetic (EM) security, high- and ultra-high-frequency RFID, and hybrid EM + RFID solutions, so libraries can secure, automate and self-serve on whatever technology fits their collection and budget.
Every device runs on The Edge System and SCWeb middleware and integrates with your ILS via SIP2 or NCIP. RFID modules are tested and certified by SIRIM and MCMC Malaysia.
Proven protection for every item
EM technology hides discreetly inside your collection and arms or dis-arms at the counter. Fully compatible with 3M, Dialoc and Checkpoint systems.
EM Strip 16 secures printed materials, hidden at the book spine. EM Label protects CDs, VCDs and DVDs.
Twin-layer non-ferrite elements can be armed and dis-armed repeatedly without losing effectiveness, with archival-quality adhesive that won't affect library materials.
The gate detects activated strips within books and alarms as the item passes through. Three models suit any entrance; pricing is by the number of lanes.
A full RFID ecosystem in two frequencies
Edge Tech supplies both High Frequency (13.56 MHz) and Ultra High Frequency (860–960 MHz) RFID, tags, reader desks, embeddable modules and security gates, all driven by The Edge System.

ETE-RF33ST stock-take
Gun-style UHF reader for stock-take and inventory checking, up to 10 m range, 500 tags/sec, Impinj R2000, IP64 rugged with 1.6 m anti-drop. Runs Android 6.0 with WiFi & Bluetooth and a hot-swappable pistol battery.
Records scanned accession numbers to a .txt file you can email into your ILS inventory module (on-shelf, lost, withdrawn), and searches for a single book by accession number with an audible alert. Tested with Koha ILS.
Wall & standalone bookdrops
ETE-RF500BDW wall-mounted (can add a sensitizer module) and ETE-RF505SBD mobile standalone units run 24/7, linked to the ILS via SIP2/NCIP. RFID or barcode models; 2 mm anti-rust steel; each bin holds 150–200 books.
ETE-B700 intelligent bin
Rolling collection bin sized to the bookdrop (outer 700×600×800 mm) for easy relocation and sorting.
Automate with RFID, keep your EM gates
Hybrid combines UHF RFID and electromagnetic in one product, the economic path for libraries moving to RFID automation while keeping their existing EM security gates.
One tape, two technologies
Combines a universal EM strip and a UHF RFID tag in a single 147×6.5 mm strip. Tag once instead of twice, cut tagging time in half, and go RFID without replacing your EM gate.
Compatible with 3M, Dialoc and Checkpoint; double-layered for enhanced detection, armed and dis-armed repeatedly with archival adhesive.
ETE-2009NH
A comprehensive station combining EM and UHF RFID. Sensitize / desensitize EM strips and perform RFID circulation and tagging from one desk, in manual, semi-auto or fully computer-controlled mode over USB.
